Monday Meditation: Sacred Tears

This will be a difficult week for many. Supporters may encourage grievers to perk up because it is a holiday week, to be “merry and bright.” There is little merriment or brightness when we miss someone. Celebrations accentuate the absence of loved ones in the sharpest way.

We said our final goodbyes to my mother six years ago today. She fought for two days after surgery, but her body couldn't continue.
Six years ago today was the last time my mother and I had a conversation. It was the last day we hugged. It was the last day she was conscious. It was the beginning of terrible week.
I'm slowly getting back into my second love, crochet. (Writing is my first.) This is my granny stitch prayer shawl in progress. Comfort is an important part of grief. If I can contribute to that for grievers, I will be grateful.
Happy election day!
Today is All Soul's Day, a day to remember the dead. Not that I need a reason to remember my mom. She is on my mind every day.
Pandemic plum hair (auburn is not a good look on me) ....one week later and 9 washes...it's fading. Yay!
